Use the CCWE Competency Framework to improve DEI results

We have developed a comprehensive guide that equips DEI practitioners and leads within organisations with the competencies required for this work.

The Problem We’re Solving

The majority of DEI studies and practices are focused on employment, legal, research, and academics. Few are focused on the practitioner and their competency when it comes to this essential work.

Establishing and sustaining effective DEI initiatives requires more than just good intentions. The DEI space continues to be an unregulated industry that is emerging constantly with new independent providers and/or in house roles. This framework ensures that we do no harm in the workplace.

What this Framework is:

  • Universal: can be applied to all organisations, individuals, and industries regardless of location.

  • Timeless: as society, economics, and business evolve, these competencies remain powerful levers for change.

  • Principle-based: relies on high-level concepts rather than detailed and prescriptive rules. Principles are a continuum of development in mindset and skill set over time.

What this Framework is not:

  • Regionally specific: this framework is not meant to address one type of workplace or workforce but be an operating system for any and all.

  • Timebound: as society and research evolve, definitions may adjust but the competencies themselves remain intact regardless of social and political trends.

  • Rule-based: strictly requires people to follow descriptive processes and practices. Binary in nature rather than a continuum of development over time.

Improve the standard of delivery and quality of results

It is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but rather a flexible tool that can be universally applied to any organisation, individual, or industry, regardless of location or sector.

The user can deploy the framework through self assessment and practice to determine growth and strength areas. This framework can also serve as the underpinning for protocols, policy, and leadership development in and among people development teams throughout the organisation.

Workplace Equity Competency Framework

A comprehensive guide that equips organisations with the competencies required for workplace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

This framework can serve as a baseline for recruiting and hiring DEI practitioners.

Many have found additional value in adding these competencies to the performance evaluations, coaching, and assessments of external DEI providers and the hiring of internal DEI role holders.
